  • $16,500,00 (2024) Another Record Setting Victory in a Medical Malpractice case . A pregnant 40 year old woman was seen by her doctors at a well known California HMO with serious complaints of continuous heart disease during seven months of her pregnancy.  She kept telling her doctors that she was nearly fainting, short of breath, dizzy and was getting worse and worse. She had an abnormal heart rate.  These are hallmarks signs of heart failure known to first year medical students.  Her doctors never evaluated or treated her for her heart condition. Heart disease is the #1 cause of death of pregnant women.  Her doctor, who specialized in high risk pregnancies, failed to even order an EKG or consult with a heart doctor.  In her seventh month the patient was at an appointment and collapsed in front of her doctor, frothing at the mouth and losing oxygen to her brain. She is now in a permanent coma. Her other three young children now mix taking care of their Mother with their school obligations.  The case was won for $16,500,000, much of which will be spent on future medical care costs.  The main doctor lacked basic knowledge of pregnancy and heart issues, and testified he didn’t even bother to look up information on the HMO research feature available on every computer at the hospital and didn’t learn to use it because he “didn’t feel like it”.  The medical care was awful and uncaring. This case result is one of the highest in the State of California for a medical malpractice case.
  • $9,000,000 Medical Malpractice: 12 Year Old boy has well known heart condition that his cardiologist ignores, and instead of giving the family medication, tells the Mother to give him more Gatorade.  The child loses consciousness and suffers loss of oxygen and brain damage.
  • $5,000,000 Another Big Victory in a Medical Malpractice case (2022)-Our client had well known and treatable heart condition – atrial fibrillation.  All doctors know patients like are at high risk of having a big stroke, and give blood thinners, like Eliquis. But our patient’s doctor didn’t know that and never   gave him a prescription.  The pills cost less than $20 a month. Guess what happened? He had a massive (but preventable) stroke. So terribly sad but we were able to win the case with enough money (just under $5,000,000) to take care of him for the rest of his life with first rate medical care and therapy.
  • $6,000,000 Against San Francisco Municipal Railway (Bus Case 2022). We won a big case in which a learning disabled teenager was in a crosswalk when he was hit by a city bus.  He suffered a head injury with brain damage.  His settlement funds will be used to medical and supportive care for the rest of his life.
  • $6,000,000 Medical Malpractice – Hospital blames woman who is having a stroke and sends her home: 35 Year Old mother and wife has signs of impending stroke, losing her ability to speak.  The emergency room doctor blamed her for not telling them what was wrong although the stroke made her lose her ability to speak!. She was falsely labeled “uncooperative” and sent home where she had a preventable full blown stroke. She had permanent life long brain damage.  Her settlement funds will be used to pay doctors and for health care guaranteed for the rest of her life. 
  • $1,500,00 (2024) Medical Malpractice case . A sixty year old pastor and barber who had high risk factors for a heart attack (overweight, insufficient exercise, high cholesterol) texted his doctor at a well known California HMO saying that he had sharp chest pain, especially when he exercised.  Instead of telling him to go straight to the Emergency Room, the doctor told him to  “Exercise more”.  Three days later he collapsed at home and died from a heart attack.  The non-sensical medical advice his doctor gave him case proves the saying: “Just because someone has a degree doesn’t mean they know what they are doing”.
  • $1,000,000. Scaffolding Company put up unstable scaffold at client’s house in the Bay Area.   The scaffold company used old beat up wood planks, secured by improper nails that weren’t hammered all the way into the wood planks. The scaffold collapsed and he fell to the ground, breaking his back.  We won that case for $1,000,000– the insurance policy limits for the scaffolding company.
  • Over $1,000,000 Bicycle accident: A Utility company that was repairing pipes under the San Francisco street, left the work site for the day and left an open trench over a half foot deep with no warnings or cones to alert bike riders. Our client rode his bicycle on the street at nighttime, had no idea a deep open trench was directly in the street and did a “header” off of his bike, suffering a mild traumatic brain injury.   The case was settled for  $1,025,000. The Utility company tried to blame accident on bicyclist.
  • $1,000,000 Brand New Corvette crushed and victim suffers mild head injury: Our client was a recently retired engineer who bought his dream car – a Corvette – was hit from behind by a  arge truck, suffering a mild brain injury.  Settlement: $1,000,000 insurance policy limits.  (The Insurance company’s tried to blame our client’s depression as the cause of his brain dysfunction when, in fact, it was the brain damage that caused his depression!
  • Personal Injury – Pedestrian in crosswalk is struck and killed by bicyclist.  Settlement: Very substantial settlement – confidential amount.
  • Personal Injury: Driver on I-580 in Oakland is sideswiped by 18 wheeler and suffers hand injury; Settlement: $875,000.
